Who is responsible

Evgeny Golubev is the individual developer of Equal Pals and the controller for e-mails sent to contact@equalpals.com.

The developer collects nothing else. The app’s App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.

What the app stores on the iPad

Equal Pals stores answers and levels, settings including the parent PIN, the pet’s name, challenge names, finished colouring pictures, badges and practice time on the iPad.

There are no accounts, ads, analytics, tracking or third-party SDKs. The app works fully offline. It makes no network requests except the iCloud backup described below. Read-aloud uses the iPad’s built-in voices on the device.

iCloud backup

Backup is on by default. The app starts copying the same data to your family’s private iCloud as soon as the iPad is signed into iCloud. A parent can switch it off in the parent area under Account → Back up to iCloud. It uses Apple CloudKit’s private database. Apple stores this copy under your family’s Apple ID, as described in Apple’s own privacy policy. The developer cannot read it.

Turning backup off stops new uploads. It does not delete anything from the iPad or iCloud.

Deleting data

Deleting the app removes its data on the iPad. To remove the iCloud copy, open iPad Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Equal Pals > Delete Data. On some versions, “Manage Storage” is called “Manage Account Storage”.

In the parent area, “Reset today” and “Reset everything” remove activity. They keep badges, challenges, finished pictures and settings.

Children’s privacy

Equal Pals is for children aged about 5 to 10 and is built with ADHD in mind. It is designed for the App Store Kids category, with COPPA, GDPR and UK GDPR in mind. No personal data is collected from children.

The parent area is behind a PIN that only an adult can set up. A short adult check comes first: a multiplication written in words. Links that leave the app, including Privacy, Terms and Contact, are only in the parent area.

This website

This website uses no cookies, scripts or analytics. It loads no fonts or files from other sites.

Like any web server, the host keeps standard access logs for security. These record your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser. The host deletes them after a short time.

If you e-mail us

E-mails sent to contact@equalpals.com are used only to reply. They are kept only as long as needed for that purpose.

The GDPR legal basis is the legitimate interest in answering your message, under Article 6(1)(f).

You have rights to access, correction, deletion and restriction of processing of your personal data, and to object to its use. To use them, e-mail Evgeny Golubev at contact@equalpals.com. You can also complain to a supervisory authority.

Any changes to this policy will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
